Wild About Orchids month celebrates the wonderful world of wildflowers and orchids. Get close to the ten different types of wild orchid growing on our nature reserve. Learn about the incredible story of the UK’s rarest orchid the beautiful Lady’s Slipper, feared extinct for many years until it was rediscovered in the Dales.
Throughout the month there’ll be guided nature walks and wildflower bingo for younger visitors.
Guided walks will take place on selected days during the month – dates will be confirmed at the beginning of April so please check this page then.
Please note that visitors can walk around the nature reserve and see the wild orchids at other times. Guided walks may be available for groups on other days by pre-booking only – email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Cost: Guided walks are free but visitors need to purchase a ticket to the Kilnsey Trail.
This event is part of the Flowers of the Dales festival. To find out more click here.
