Cefas are the government body that registers and monitors all fisheries and their aquatic health.

To register your fishery you need to fill in Form RW1

To register an aquaponics system you need Form RW2

Environment Agency (EA)

The EA issue and monitor all water ‘Abstraction’ licences, ‘Discharge’ licences, ‘Supplier Permits’ to farms which supply fish, and ‘Site Permits’ which fisheries need to have to allow them to stock fish.

To apply for a site permit, contact the EA Fish Movements Team on 01480 483968.
