Serving up a slice of Yorkshire
Relax and enjoy wonderful views across the lakes and lush valley over a delicious meal, light snack or cup of freshly brewed tea/coffee. The Café by the Lake, run independently by Richard and Rachel, is well known for its delicious Yorkshire Dales home cooking, and no visit to the Dales is complete without trying the famous Pink fish & chips.
All the food is freshly made by chef Danny and the team, from locally sourced produce where possible. Cakes and scones are baked freshly on site. Takeaway hot drinks, bacon rolls and sandwiches are available for fishermen and walkers.
The cafe caters for children and for younger guests there are high chairs and baby changing facilities, and the staff are happy to warm baby food.
Cafe by the Lake is a dog-friendly cafe.

A range of quality local foods, preserves and gifts is available from the shop. If you love the freshest fish then this is the place for you – you can take home one of our famous rainbow trout, grown here in the pristine spring water of the Dales since 1978.
Please note that picnics are not allowed around the lakes or on the cafe patio.
