Introduction to Fly Fishing course

This one day course is for those with little or no experience in fly fishing. It gives you a really enjoyable day out, while providing all the basic skills and information needed to enable you to start fly fishing for yourself.

You even get to take a fish home with you – filleted if you like, and an exclusive booklet to remind you of the day and the techniques that you learned.

You also receive a voucher which entitles you to a free 4 hour ticket fishing at Kilnsey, so you can come back to hone your skills in our beautiful setting.

At only £95 for adults they make great presents, and we can issue attractive named gift certificates. We can leave the dates open if bought as a gift.

Course content:

  • An introduction and overview of the course
  • Fly fishing tackle, its use and design
  • Setting up your fly fishing equipment
  • Fly fishing knots
  • Basic entomology (the fly life cycle)
  • The trout & its environment
  • Casting and Line Management
  • Guided fly fishing
  • Playing and landing a fish & fish welfare
